Issue #1 · Preview: Pearl’s 3D product is live, Videa links to the lab, and one ADA-aligned question before your next demo.
CBCT AI leaves the lab, and the front desk should care
Welcome to The AI Operatory — a short weekly brief for dental practice owners and office managers.
Three parts, every week: what changed, what to ignore, one thing to try.
What changed
1) Pearl put FDA-cleared CBCT AI into general dentists’ hands (Sep 3, 2026)
Pearl commercially launched Second Opinion 3D in the US and Canada.
→ hellopearl.com news
2) Videa + Dandy: clinical AI meeting the lab (Oct 2, 2026)
Dentaltown reported Videa partnering with digital lab Dandy.

3) Voice charting keeps expanding (Aug 17, 2026+)
Overjet Voice hard tissue + perio charting; multi-office rollouts continuing.

What to ignore
Another “ChatGPT will replace your hygienist” thread. Also park DSO-only scoreboard news unless it changes a tool a 1–4 doctor practice can buy this quarter.
One thing to try before Monday
Before your next AI vendor demo, ask:
- How does your imaging AI get validated against an independent dataset — not only your own?
- Show me the path from finding → chart note → claim documentation in our PMS — who clicks what?
